Ways to make easy money while having a busy school schedule
April 11, 2019
Having a steady job while managing schoolwork and other activities can be pretty challenging. Most jobs have demanding hours along with tax deductions, leaving you with hardly enough money in your paycheck and wondering if it’s all worth it.
However, with the right kind of job, you can set your own hours and make your own pay. This leaves you with loads of time at your fingertips.
Babysitting is probably one of the most convenient jobs for a highschooler because it allows students to work whenever it is convenient, while still making good money. In addition, jobs like these pay real money without tax deductions, which is more profitable.
Babysitting jobs are very flexible, especially for students. So if the student is busy working on a project one night, they can choose to not work that particular day. Franchise and industry jobs are not as lenient; if a student was busy working on schoolwork, they would still have to work anyway, forcing them to find another time to finish their school priorities. This is what makes babysitting a favorable alternative.
Another suitable job would be dog walking. It may seem far-fetched, but many people hire dog walkers to go out and walk their dogs to engage them in activities. In addition to getting paid for walking someone’s dog, you would get good exercise. Not to mention, this would be a very easy job that doesn’t actually take up a lot of time.
Posting small business ads that advertise jobs such as dog walking or babysitting can help to spread the word around. For instance, you can easily create an online ad for free and then post it on social media in order to get more feedback.
When people go on vacations, they normally ask family or friends to watch their homes while they are away. Most of the time this requires the teen to simply check on the house and make sure that nothing is out of the ordinary. This makes housesitting an extremely easy job for teens who do not have a lot of free time.
Lastly, for students who want to earn money but also get extra school practice, tutoring would be your best bet. The ages for tutoring vastly range, therefore you have the choice to either tutor elementary, middle school, or high school. The tutor would even get extra school practice which can benefit them during quizzes, tests, and daily work.
Each of the jobs listed here allow flexibility for students whose busy schedules limit their availability for more time-consuming jobs. However, while these jobs are decidedly more convenient, they can still teach valuable life skills as all jobs do. So get out there and start hunting — job hunting, that is.
