Influencer becomes the newest ‘it girl’ on TikTok

Alix Earle’s rapid rise to fame has greatly impacted many TikTok users, leaving the newest “it girl” with a multitude of great opportunities.

Tiktok’s newest “it girl,” Alix Earle, has taken the internet by storm, infatuating many users with her fast-paced lifestyle, college experiences, and “get ready with me” TikToks.

In December, Earle began gaining traction on her TikTok, which has been rapidly gaining more and more followers ever since. She now has 4 million TikTok followers and 1.8 million Instagram followers. 

This drastic rise in popularity and fame has been seen in other influencers, like Addison Rae and Charli D’amelio, who evolved from regular teenage girls making TikToks in their rooms to becoming mainstream celebrities in the blink of an eye. Unlike D’amelio and Rae, whose audience consists of younger teenagers, Earle has taken a “big sister” role on the platform with many adults and other college students enjoying her content. 

Tiktok users love checking in on Earle’s profile every day to see what event she’s getting ready for and what products she’s using. Earle’s “get ready with me” TikToks involve her getting ready by doing her makeup, selecting an outfit and doing her hair. She talks about what’s going on in her day to day life, personal relationships or describes what she’s getting ready for while highlighting the products she’s most fond of at the moment. 

Her makeup videos have inspired many other creators. Ever since Earle blew up, there’s been many other “get ready with me” TikToks, with other influencers claiming they were inspired by Earle’s unique video style. This content provides entertainment and a way for creators to connect with their audience on a personal level.

With Earle’s new “it girl” status, many fans are running to stores and purchasing the products she recommends in her content. Many people are inspired by the way she applies her makeup, especially her signature white eyeliner in the waterline.

Her passion for makeup and her ability to influence her audience has led to her being invited to Dubai on a brand trip with Tarte and an invitation to Miley Cyrus’s 30th birthday party.

Many people are critical of her popularity, saying they “don’t understand the Alix Earle hype. She’s a tall, skinny, pretty, rich, white girl, like every other influencer out there.” Yet, many people feel as though they’re “living through Alix” when watching her extravagant lifestyle. Maybe her unrelatability is a nice refresher.
