The Veterinarian Medical Application and Small Animal management classes are seeking donations through Wednesday to help the local animal shelter.
“These animals are not there by choice,” teacher Eric Norton said. “They are there because of decisions of others, some because their owners simply couldn’t afford them because of the economy and some abandoned. Others from people not spaying and neutering their pets. They deserve to be taken care of because that is what we are called to do as humans.”
Around the holiday season, people tend to cut down on giving to the animal shelter because of the many other charities in need. His class is hoping to help fill in the gaps for the shelter during this time.
“They will be rounding up the donations, and then my Vet Med class will deliver them to the shelter,” Norton said. “I’m encouraging my students to look into ways they can volunteer their time to help, especially those that are looking into ways they can volunteer their time to help, especially those that are looking into careers with animals.”
Items needed include dog food/treats, towels/blankets, Fabuloso, cat food, laundry detergent, cat litter, car toys, animal shampoo, water buckets, leashes/collars.
Donations can be dropped off at the front office, and students can bring donations to Room 216.
