Members of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter recently participated in the Area I, Region III Leadership Conference held Jan. 21 at Heritage High School in Frisco, Texas.
The eight students earned eight medals with two being named State Qualifiers and two receiving the Diplomat Torch Award. They are:
Puja Kalyani – 2nd Place State Qualifier–Individual Administrative Support Research Project
J. D. Hoglan – 4th Place State Qualifier – CISCO Systems Administration
Steven Firmin – 5th Place – Fundamentals of Web Design
Sylvester Kendricks – 4th Place – PC Servicing & Troubleshooting
Nick Sehy – 3rd Place – Digital Media Production
Open Event winners are:
Daniel Pellegrin – 1st Place–Insurance Concepts; 1st Place–Business Meeting Management
Nick Sehy – 1st Place – Financial Math
Additionally Puja Kalyani and Ariel McDonald were named Diplomats in the Torch Awards Program. This program frames and guides a BPA member’s leadership and service to their chapter and community. Students complete activities and must earn a minimum of 30 points in each of the seven Torch categories – Leadership; Service; Cooperation; Knowledge; Friendship; Love, Hope, Faith; and Patriotism.
