The Texarkana Animal Shelter is currently involved in a grant contest that began in January.

The Shelter Challenge will award $5,000 to the Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana, Ark., if they gain the most votes on www.shelterchallenge.com.

The shelter is located beside the Boys’ and Girls’ Club and would benefit greatly from the grant. With supporters’ help, the money will allow the animals to get better treatment and find a nicer place to stay.
