Texas High has registered for Celebrate My Drive sponsored by State Farm. This is a national promotion to eliminate teenage texting and driving. Our school registering can mean big prizes if we get enough students to sign up.

According to Celebrate my Drive, more teens die from car crashes than any other cause. This is why Texas High is supporting the 2N2, two hands on the wheel and two eyes on the road.

“I think this is a great opportunity to help bring awareness about texting and driving,” Principal Brad Bailey said.

The prizes for this year are big, 90 schools will win $25,000, ten schools will win $100,000 and one school will win a concert from The Band Perry.

“THS has several needs. So I would establish a committee to determine where the funds should be allocated to,” Bailey said. “It would definitely go towards the needs of our students.”

To help support our school go to celebratemydrive.com Oct. 15-24, register with your email and make the commitment to not text while driving.

“The benefit is by preventing an accident and saving lives by not texting and driving,” Bailey said. “In addition, the more people who sign-up, the better chance we have of winning the contest and using the prize money towards helping our students and school.”
