Students will be able to strengthen their ACT strategies at a prep session on June 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be held in the Math and Science Center at Texas High and is open to all Texas High students. These classes are held one week prior to the national ACT test.

The cost is $25 per student; however, scholarship opportunities are available. Students only need to stop by the College and Career Readiness Center and speak with academic adviser Betty Lynn Stark.

“This gives the kids a chance to practice because a lot of the tests they take in high school are not timed,” Stark said. “So it’s good to get a practice test and even a timed test and get familiar with the questions, so when you come in for the test you feel comfortable walking in; you know the format, you know what kind of questions are going to be there. It helps students do their best. The more students that study and get prepared for the ACT, the better off they’ll do.”
