Cheer tryouts are quickly approaching. Texas High School cheer tryouts for the Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will be held on March 9.

“Starting on March 6, the tryout clinic will begin with current senior cheerleaders teaching the material.

“During the week of the tryout clinic is a really great opportunity to ask questions and get clarification on specific topics,” senior cheerleader Katie Biggar said. “I know that I always benefited from asking many questions.”

During that week, participants are required to wear a solid white t-shirt, black shorts and cheer shoes or tennis shoes, and a bow, if desired. The clinic will start on Tues. from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Each day, there will be a group of seniors that will stay after for a brief time to help anyone that needs it.

On March 9, the day of tryouts, the incoming freshmen will begin their tryouts at 4:00 p.m. and the rest of the tryouts will follow accordingly. Finally, results will be posted approximately around 10:00 p.m. that same night.
