As the stage lights go up and the audience sits down, the actors of Tiger Theatre Company’s production of “Noises Off” stand backstage preparing themselves to open the first fall show of the 2024-2025 school year. Rehearsals for this production began in late July, and tonight will be the first time that the public eye will have an opportunity to see the work that the company did to prepare for this show.
“The rehearsal process for Noises Off has been super productive,” junior Nevaeh Marshall said. “Everything we have to do for a certain rehearsal usually gets done, and the process has been really helpful.”
For “Noises Off”, the rehearsal process proves to be a more rigorous and fast-paced schedule in comparison to past productions put on by the Tiger Theatre Company due to the fact that most of the participants partake in the other fall production, Charlotte’s Web.
“Maintaining being a part of Charlotte’s Web and Noises Off has been a bit of a struggle,” sophomore Andrea Mendoza said. “As the [Noises Off rehearsals] have progressed, we decided to put Charlotte’s Web on hold until the run of Noises Off comes to an end.”
Consisting of 3 acts that time to about 30-50 minutes each, the show runs at a little bit over two hours. To ensure that they can memorize the large amount of dialogue in the production, the cast attends daily rehearsals ranging from two to 10 hours depending on the day.
Since the rehearsal schedule proves itself to be more demanding than members have typically endured, all actors and technical crew face day to day challenges, in which they have to work around. A major challenge within this show boils down to the three acts it has.
“Being in a 3 act show has been hard because we have to maintain a lot of stamina throughout the run of the show,” Marshall said. “However, the directors have been really helpful and informative and it’s really fun.”
Tickets for the show can be found on ttcths.booktix.com, and they can also be purchased at the door for $5 or $10.
“I like a lot about this production,” Mendoza said. “The whole show is a really good look into the theater and it’s very funny.”
