Preparations for the annual Miss Texas High Pageant are well underway, and girls who would like to participate in the event should turn in their applications to Room 50 on Friday. The pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 in the John Thomas Theatre.
“When I was in Miss THS as a sophomore I had a lot fun,” senior Heather Ellis said. “It was a really good experience because a wide variety of people came together and shared their talents and experiences with each other.”
The contestants will have to conduct an interview, model informal wear and an evening gown, perform a talent, and answer on-stage questions. The winner will receive a crown and a $400 scholarship.
“It’s a great way to meet people and become involved,” Ellis said. “You find out even though you might be different from someone you can still have fun with them.”
Application packets are available in Room 50. For more information, contact theater teacher Michelle Robinson.
