The Texas High and Pleasant Grove High School football teams will face off Friday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. Tickets will be $5, and the gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
This scrimmage will provide both sides the opportunity to gauge their players’ improvement since the previous season and will give coaches a realistic look at their depth charts.
“We are going to scrimmage against PG to see where we’re at with our offense and defense,” junior Anthony Rhone said. “[We’ll] see where adjustments need to be made and what the good and bad parts are.”
The players themselves are just excited for the opportunity to go against someone on another team and look forward to playing together as a team.
“Our offense and defense have been working really hard, and we’re ready to get back at it,” Rhone said. “It’s always a privilege to get out there and play with our teammate.”
Spectators will park in the west parking area and will purchase tickets from the north west ticket booth. All proceeds from ticket sales will be put towards the Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure.
