The Texas High Tigers were defeated by the Pine Tree Pirates 4-0 on Tuesday, March 1.

The game started with a score from the Pirates with 21 minutes left in the first half and again with 16 minutes left, making the score 2-0.

“It wasn’t a good night for the team because we weren’t motivated to get another win, we knew going in it would be a really tough game,” junior Alex Hernandez said. “We played better than the first time we played them, but it still wasn’t enough. I feel like the team as a whole didn’t believe we could stand a chance so a few individuals were working harder than others.”

The Pirates scored again, concluding the first half with a score of 3-0.

“We went in with our heads down because they are first team in district,” senior Axel Contreras said. “We should have played better and harder, we didn’t play as well as we could or should have.”

The Pirates scored with 21 minutes left in the game, making the final score 4-0.
“While it has been a tough season and losing isn’t a foreign concept to us, this loss still hurts just like any other,” Debenport said. “We started out playing good and then once we got down it was hard to dig out of that hole.”
