The Lady Tigers swept the North Lamar Lady Panthers 3-0 in their second home game Aug. 16, 2022. 

The opening moments of the first set were close. Neither team was able to fully grasp onto a wave of momentum and ride it. 

Texas took their first lead of the set at 15-14, then took control of the game with multiple kills and aces. 

Senior Bella Cherry got a big kill followed by a monster block to close out the first 25-18. 

Early in the second set, Texas took control of the pace of the game. Cherry picked up a first ball kill to start the set. 

The Panthers got a few kills and brought the game back close.

Junior Mally Lumpkin went on a seven point service run to allow the Tigers to pull away with a 16-9 lead. 

Texas ran away with the set, tacking on multiple kills, blocks, and aces to their stat sheets. 

The Lady Tigers took the second set with a score of 25-15. 

The Tigers carried all of the momentum going into the third set, and continued to play fast paced throughout the duration of the set. 

Texas played with an efficient offense, landing multiple kills and minimal hitting errors. 

Cherry led in kills with 13, also adding on 15 assists, in her first game back from injury.

Lumpkin followed in kills with 12, junior Cy Hopkins brought the team 23 assists, a career high. 

With this win, the Lady Tigers advanced their record to 2-0 in pre-season play.

Texas will take on the Greenville Lady Lions Friday, Aug. 19, 2022 at home at 6 p.m.
