Horticulture is selling mums for homecoming. The class is required to sell them to raise money for their funds and also to save students money.
“[Mums are] so expensive,” horticulture teacher Kaye Ramirez said. “We can have a little money for the fund and sell them to students for about half of the cost.”
There is a flyer for ordering mums in this issue, and they will be sold in the cafeteria. Sales will continue in the cafeteria until Oct. 6 during all lunches. The mums’ prices range from $30 to $40.
“Not everyone can go out and buy everything to make them,” Ramirez said. “We can make them pretty much the same way as store bought mums, but they can be more affordable for students.”
